Gooten requires 300 DPI minimum on all wall art, canvas, and home goods. Apparel (DTG) accepts 150 DPI minimum but 300 DPI produces sharper results. All files must be sRGB; CMYK is not accepted. Maximum file size 25MB.

Common Gooten upload failures and how to fix them

Gooten's validator and fulfillment partners flag these issues most often:

Low DPI metadata on wall art. Gooten reads the embedded DPI tag in JPEG and PNG files. A 4,800 x 6,000 px image with 72 DPI metadata gets flagged even though the pixel count is correct for a 16x20" print at 300 DPI. The fix: always stamp 300 DPI metadata at export. CMYK color space. Gooten's pipeline expects sRGB. Files over 25MB. Gooten enforces a 25MB per-file limit. A 24x36" print at 300 DPI as a lossless PNG can easily exceed this. Fix: export as JPEG at 95% quality (typically 8–15MB for large wall art) rather than PNG when lossless transparency is not needed for the product. PNG is required for tote bags and apparel where transparent backgrounds are necessary.
Undersized files for large-format products. Sellers sometimes upload a 2,400 x 3,000 px file (correct for 8x10") for an 18x24" order. At 18x24" that's only 133 DPI — well below the 300 DPI minimum. Gooten may accept the file but the print output will be visibly soft. Always match pixel dimensions to the ordered product size, not the design's original export size.
Canvas files without extended wrap edges. Canvas products need image content that extends into the wrap area — typically 0.75" to 1.5" beyond the visible face on all four sides. Submitting a file at exact face dimensions results in a white (or black) wrap edge, which looks unprofessional. Extend the design or add a mirrored/solid-color bleed before submitting canvas orders.

The solution is to export large-format files as JPEG at 90–95% quality, which typically produces 8–15MB files at 300 DPI.
